After a shipment has been completed in SAP, an IDoc is generated if the partner is setup in such a way. You may need the IDoc number for one reason or another (view it in we02, tracking it in your EDI Translator, etc). This guide will show you how to find the IDoc Number.

Get the IDoc Number from a Shipment in SAP

  1. Login to SAP

  2. Execute t-code VT03N – Display Shipment

  3. Enter the shipment number

  4. Press enter to execute, you will now see the Outbound (Outbd) shipment display overview

  5. In the file menu of your SAP client, select Goto and then Output

  6. Select your EDI line (Medium 6 EDI)

  7. Click the Processing log button on the top navigational menu

  8. A new screen will appear, Output Processing Analysis. The IDoc number should be the last line in the Message text column

  9. Press ctrl-y to select the IDoc number in the text field, use ctrl-c to copy
