When you receive a new Verizon Phone, you need to activate it. If you do not know how to activate your new Verizon Wireless phone, this tutorial/guide will show you how. Services available from Verizon are mobile/cell phones and FiOS which is a data communication network based on Fiber Optic (glass) lines. It allows television, Internet and telephone services.

Activate your Verizon Wireless Phone

If you already have Verizon wireless Services and are registered for an account on VerizonWireless.com, follow these phone activation steps:

  1. Load VerizonWireless.com in your browser

  2. Click the My Verizon tab in the upper left corner

  3. Login to Verizon

  4. Click My Services located on the top

  5. On the left, click My Phone

  6. Next click Activate Phone which is located on the right

  7. If it is a new phone, click Activate New Phone. Otherwise click Activate Equipment


If you do not have a My Verizon account, follow these steps:

  1. From your new Verizon mobile phone, Dial *228

  2. Chose Option #3

  3. Wait for your phone to be programmed (about 1 minute)
